Benefits of Obedience Training
Obedience training is a great way to not only teach your dog some basic manners but also to build up their confidence and give them some structure. It can be helpful for dogs who are shy or anxious, as well as those who are simply full of energy and need an outlet for it. No matter what your dog’s individual needs may be, obedience training is a great way to bond with them and give them the skills they need to be a well-behaved member of the family. Other benefits of obedience training include:
- Improved communication between you and your dog
- A decrease in problem behaviors such as jumping, barking, and chewing
- An outlet for your dog’s energy and mental stimulation
- Increased confidence in both you and your dog
How Many Sessions Does it Take to See Results?
Generally, most dogs will start to show some progress after just a few sessions. However, the number of sessions needed to see results can vary depending on the dog’s age, breed, temperament, and previous training experience. Some dogs may need only a handful of sessions while others may require ongoing training in order to see the desired results. You can talk to Alexa and Laura about what to expect for your dog specifically and they will be able to give you a better idea of how many sessions it may take depending on desired results.
